...One mans demise, to the eventual rise!
First of all, allow me to thank you for taking the time to come and view my site 'The Harder I Tri' - A story of one mans demise, to the eventual rise of a GBR Age-Group Triathlete.
Within the following pages, I intend to document my life through my own eyes and those of my nearest and dearest. I intend to offer you the motivation you need to continue in your own quest to be the best you possibly can and to achieve what you never thought possible.
I would like this site not only to be a great reference point to you, but please share with your friends and family, as there may be regular updates from the 'Sporting Widows' involved in my quest.
That 'Quest' was a strong performance at the 2012 European Triathlon Championships in Eilat, Israel. This was my first of hopefully many in my new GBR team Tri Suit. Shortly after this event in April 2012 I aimed to qualify again for the European Championships in 2013, in Turkey, and the 2013 World Championships, on the Olympic course in Hyde Park in London, both at Olympic distance.
The 'Result', not only did I have a strong performance in my first outing in the GBR colours, I won Gold by finishing first in my age category 35-39 in the European Sprint Championships. By finishing 1st, I was invited back to defend my Euro medal at the 2013 championships in Alanya, Turkey. Along with this, shortly after, I qualified to race in the Standard distance at the same event.
Dilema? Yes! however, my choice was to sprint again to defend my medal.
What a start, the rest of the story is contained within the following pages, the blog posts and whatever the future holds.
Who would have thought, trudging around almost 6 stone heavier, as little as 18 month prior.
I would like to add that, the views contained within the following pages are that of my own, unless cited as that of others.
