I'm not having it, never. All this talk of 2012 being a damp squib, recession, redundancies, doom and gloom.......
Drink from a glass that is half empty you will inevitably be sipping the dregs. Doing what you have always done? you will get what you have always got. In life you have to make sacrifices, you have to have drive and determination, you need to have a positive outlook and you can make big changes to the way you live your life.
Im not saying that these changes made my 2012 what it was. I am saying it certainly helped mould the outcome in so many ways. You still have to work hard and do it with commitment to arrive where you want to.
Philosophy over. I am sure as you read this blog, you have read my previous blogs, all be it some time ago since my last post, but you know my story. If you haven't or dont, I recommend that you read it, because I am just a normal person who has done absolutely everything to change his life around and succeeded with that. Along the way, I have helped inspire friends and family to do the same.
The final major turningpoint of 2012 was to help with the successful set up and launch of Coalfields Racing Team, the brain child of my coach Elliot Gowland, but something we have all wanted. A new dedicated multisports racing team in the north east for like minded athletes of all standards from GBR internationals to first season triathletes 'Sport Swapping'. The main ethos is that we all have one interest and that is racing, whenever and wherever we can. whether it be to win or to beat our personal bests. Be it to continue rivalry or to race from being last. There is no elitism, we help each other and advise where we can.
Please visit our site at www.coalfieldsrt.com or look out for us in Orange and Blue at races around the country.
I fully look forward to racing throughout 2013 Not only for my club Coalfields Racing team, but as an ambassador for www.a1multisport.co.uk and www.sigsports.co.uk I make absolutely no apologies about shouting from the highest about these guys as they have all helped me in so many ways, I will be out repaying that help with my supporting cast. Charlotte and Freya and my folks Norma and Bill and coach Elliot Gowland and his wife Kerry, and Lisa at Target Physiotherapy for keeping my legs in good condition. For without any of their help, advice and assistence, I would not be playing this game.
Dont be a dreamer... Be a believer.......
